In this episode, I’m talking to you about a precious resource – your time – and why you should stop wasting it by waiting. With life being so busy and hectic, it’s easy to tell yourself that you’re going to wait until the time is right to pursue your goals and dreams. I know that it’s not easy, but you must train yourself to become action-oriented even when you don’t feel like doing the work.
As you listen, think about what you really want to achieve or accomplish over the next year and write it down. I want you to think about what steps you can take today to move forward in the direction of your 12-month goal. As I share with you in this episode, you don’t have to take giant steps. Each small step will add up to get you to your desired result. Just like you don’t see immediate results from working out, it will take time for you to achieve your big goals. But you can do it when you decide, plan and take consistent action.
I talk about the benefits of not waiting and how it impacts your life in the long-term. That thing that you’ve been called to do will always be on the horizon until you stop waiting and start creating what you want.
I hope that you hear something that inspires you to get going. I’d love to have a conversation with you on this topic. You can comment over at http://ericablocker.com/137 and I’ll be sure to respond.

“The more you (that) you become, the more your ideal client will be attracted to you.” -Brittany Bullen
When Brittany Bullen was a struggling new mom, she rediscovered her joy by doing things she was a “nerd” about - like writing books, songs and even a musical. Her nerdiness eventually led her to create NerdyGirl.co, which has become a content marketing consulting agency, worldwide movement and brand.
Brittany’s on a mission to teach other moms how to use “personality marketing” (a term she coined) to turn their own “nerdiness” into fulfilling, profitable businesses.
In this episode, Brittany talks about:
Brittany gives you a whole new perspective on living a life outside of what you know right now, and how it’s possible while being a wife and a busy mom.

In this episode, I’m talking to you about the six excuses that I hear moms make all the time when it comes to living their dreams. As moms, we will move mountains and walk across the sea for our children, but we often don’t approach our own desires with such fervor.
Why is that?
Why do we believe that our children should have what they want, but often do not believe the same for ourselves?
Deep down we know that we deserve to live our dreams. Instead of being courageous and figuring out a way to go after what we want, we allow the story that we’ve been telling ourselves and the excuses that we make to hold us back from living our best life.
Well after today, you’re going to get rid of your excuses and start working on your dreams. As you listen, I want you to think about which excuses you’ve made (or heard other moms make). Then I want you to think about how your life would look if you removed all your excuses and went for it.
How would life look for you in six months, one year, or five years?
Would you recognize your own life, or would you literally feel like you were living in a dream?
What I want you to get most from this episode is that anything is possible. Whatever your heart desires can be yours. You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to start – you can start right now, right where you are.
I challenge you to start removing your excuses – one at a time – and start taking small steps toward your dreams. I promise you that it’s not as hard as it may seem right now. Everything seems hard before you do it. If you can take one step, you can take two steps. Before you know it, you’ll be at the top, living the life you dreamt of living, doing the things that you thought were once impossible. It’s yours. You simply have to stop making excuses and start doing the work.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic. You can leave a comment below the show notes at http://ericablocker.com/134.
Until next time, reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love. Make a difference.

I’m confident that you have struggled with trying to be perfect at some point in your life. It’s a common thing that we do. Sometimes, we aren’t even aware that we’re doing it. As humans, it’s in our nature to want to do our best. That’s completely normal. But the dangers come in when we place unrealistic expectations on ourselves to be perfect.
I’ve been dealing with perfectionism for most of my life. It wasn’t until recently that I became aware of how it was affecting me. Once I was aware, I got intentional about making changes in my life to overcome my perfectionist tendencies.
In this episode, I help you understand what perfectionism is, what it isn’t, five dangers of being a perfectionist, and how you can also overcome it.
As with anything, it takes time for you to change. The first step is becoming aware. Then you can take the necessary steps to make a change for the better. I’m still working on it, but I’m much better than I used to be.
I hope that you hear something that resonates with you. I invite you to listen with an open mind and heart, so you can receive what you need in your life.

In this solo episode, I’m encouraging you to slow down and enjoy the journey to your dreams. In our fast-paced society, we do a lot of rushing around from one thing to the next, and we’ve developed a mindset that doing things fast is the only way to achieve success.
I’m challenging you to change your mind about that. Instead, I want you to give yourself permission to slow down and find a pace that fits your lifestyle. As moms, we have a lot on our plates. We have obligations and responsibilities that take precedence over our wants and desires. And we simply don’t have the luxury of doing everything fast. When we try to do too much too fast, we can start to feel overwhelmed and put ourselves at risk for burnout.
As you listen to this episode, I want you to think about the pace at which you’re currently living your life and pursuing your dreams. Are you living in the moment and enjoying your journey, or are you constantly moving at such a fast pace that makes it difficult for you to enjoy it?
I share tips to help you slow down and enjoy where you are right now. You don’t have to go fast. You’re not competing with anyone. These are your dreams, and you can set your own pace. If you’re consistent, then you’ll eventually get where you want to go.
Do you agree?

This has to be one of the most personal episodes that I’ve shared to date on my podcast. To be quite honest, I got a little nervous when my editor told me that it was ready to go because that meant it was getting closer to me sharing one of my most recent struggles with the entire world. I’m not even sure why I started to feel this way – especially because I know other people have gone through this before.
Even though I know I’m not the only person who’s ever gone through this, I was having a little fear of being judged. It’s scary to be vulnerable and put your truth out there for the world to know. But at the end of the day, this isn’t about me. And if I can help at least one person by sharing my struggles and my truth, then I’m doing exactly what I’ve been called to do.
That said, this week’s episode is about me sharing a personal dilemma that I had, which caused me to doubt myself and consider quitting. Yup, that’s right! I had gotten myself all worked up to the point where I was ready to throw in the towel and disappear into the land of nothingness – doing nothing after work except for sitting on the couch and watching television. (Luckily, I saved myself from that misery lol).
I tell you all about what I was going through and I even let you know about a business that I started last year, which I’ve never even mentioned on my podcast until now.
After I spill all of my truth, I share what I did to help myself get out of my own way and back on track (this is where I found my sweet spot J). I mention that one of the things that helped me get back on track was the book, Feel Free to Prosper: Two Weeks to Unexpected Income with the Simplest Prosperity Laws Available by Marilyn Jenett. I highly recommend that you read this book – it will change your life! You can get your copy here.
Maybe you’ll relate personally to my struggle, and maybe you won’t. Even if you’ve never faced this challenge, my hope is that you take something with you that will help you get through a struggle you’re facing. I also hope that you realize that quitting isn’t the answer. There’s a solution to every problem – we just have to be willing to search for a solution and implement what we learn.
Thank you for listening and for being here with me on this incredible life journey. As you’ll hear in this episode, I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m enjoying the process and valuable life lessons as they come.

Self-care has become quite popular over recent years with more women taking it seriously now than ever before. Women are abandoning their superwoman capes and heading to salons for hair maintenance, nail treatments, and massages. They’re making time for themselves and have started to understand that they aren’t any good to their families or anyone else if they aren’t taking care of themselves.
In this episode, I have a conversation with Julia Aziz, an interfaith minister, licensed clinical social worker, and author who supports those who care for others - whether they are healthcare professionals, counselors, educators, or natural caregivers.
You’ll hear Julia’s definition of self-care, which is quite different from the popular definition that you may associate it with right now.

Welcome back to a new season of the Moms with Dreams Show! I’m SUPER-EXCITED to be back from summer break. Although summer is my favorite season and I usually never want it to end, I don’t feel sad about the seasons changing this year. That’s probably because I REALLY enjoyed my summer this year. I mean - I maximized the days, weeks, and months and made time for a lot of fun doing the things that I love.
Now that the kids are back in school and summer’s just about over, I’m ready to get back into the new season. I didn’t feel right about jumping back into an interview for the first episode. Instead, I wanted to share some of my summer highlights with you and also give you a glimpse of what you can expect in the new season. Granted, some things may change as we go along, but that’s to be expected. We are constantly evolving, and the only constant is change, right?
I hope you enjoy listening this season and are inspired to get closer to your dreams. If you have a topic that you want me to cover or have any comments about the show, please feel free to email me at Erica@momswithdreams.com.
Here’s to a great season together!
Love and Blessings,
Erica
Many of us have big dreams with good intentions. We have a strong desire to live out our dreams but often fall short with taking the action to make them become our reality.
What I’ve learned is that when you really want something bad enough, you’ll figure out a way to get it done. I’ve also learned that the “doing” part is often the hardest. For me personally, it’s easy to get started on something new, but it’s much harder for me to see it through to completion.
In episode 125, I share six tips to help you to go from being a dreamer to a doer. Living your dreams requires work on your part, and you can’t skip any of the work if you want the results.
I’m not going to give away any of my tips here because I want you to listen and take notes. If you’re unable to take physical notes while listening (as you may be driving or working out), then I want you to take mental note. Then choose at least one tip that you’ll put into action now, so you can become a doer and experience the life of your dreams.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic and hear about your big takeaways from this episode. You can leave a comment over at http://ericablocker.com/125 or email me directly at Erica@momswithdreams.com.

In this episode, I celebrate my 3-year podcast anniversary with you. This has been an awesome journey, and I could not have done it without you. Thank you so much for all of your love and support.
At first, this was going to be a celebratory episode for moms as a continuation of Mother’s Day. Personally, I think moms should be celebrated every single day, but I’m not the one in charge. As moms, we go to great measures to take care of our families, support and love our significant others, and make sure that everyone has what they need. Being a mom is hard work, and it never ends, so yes – we should be honored and celebrated every day of the year.
But this episode is not about that. Instead, I decided to share with you 5 important lessons that I’ve learned during my 3 years as a podcaster. These aren’t random life lessons. They are actually lessons that I didn’t expect to learn from podcasting, and they ultimately helped me become a better mom.
I invite you to listen with an open mind and see which of these lessons either apply to you or can help you also become a better mom.

In this episode, I talk with you about the topic, success is always intentional. Before you can achieve success, you must define it for yourself. At the top of this talk, I offer a general definition of success and encourage you to apply it to your life. I challenge you to define success for yourself and identify what you want to achieve or attain in life.
Next, you have to understand that success doesn’t show up overnight, and it requires you to work for it. You have to be intentional with your time and action if you want to achieve something different or go beyond where you are right now.
Then I talk about what it means to be intentional. It’s deliberate action. It’s not being haphazard and winging it.
I encourage you to not get overwhelmed with the “how” of it all, but instead trust the process. Know that when you set an intention and take action, the how will be revealed with perfect timing. When you are aligned with what God wants you to do, your steps will be ordered.
Remember that life will always happen, so be prepared for distractions to pop up. Carve out time to work toward success, and be very protective of your time. Talk with your family about supporting you by helping out with tasks that would normally occupy your time.
As you become intentional with success in your life, you’ll learn more about yourself. You’ll accomplish things that used to seem impossible. You’ll discover that you are more than a conqueror and that you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you.

In this episode, I talk about the power of saying no and why it’s important that you learn how to say no and feel good about it. This is a lesson that I’ve been learning over the past few years. I haven’t always been good at saying no, but I’m much better at it now.
The truth is that I used to think that I was being mean if I said no to something even if I really didn’t want to do it. I don’t like hurting anyone’s feelings, so I often over committed and agreed to doing things for others that simply didn’t serve me. Most times when I did this, I would end up feeling bad because I committed to doing something that I really didn’t want to do. I go deeper into feeling bad in this episode.
I share two other main points that you should consider as you begin to learn how to say no. As women, we must take a stand for our own happiness and that begins with understanding the power of saying no.
As you listen, think about times in your life when you said yes to something that you should have said no to. Think about how you felt afterwards. Do you remember having positive or negative feelings?
Now, imagine how you would have felt if you simply honored your true feelings and said no. I encourage you to start implementing the power of saying no in your life. I promise that you will thank yourself for it in the long run.

MWD 114: Face Your Biggest Fears This Year
“Nothing happens until you do.” - Unknown
If you declared 2018 to be your year, then get ready to make it happen!
In this episode, I’m sharing my F.A.C.E. Your Fears formula to help you make 2018 your year for real. You’ll want to carve out 15-30 minutes of quiet, distraction-free time to go through this exercise.
I will walk you through the four steps of facing your fears:
I truly want the best for you and I believe in you. Take back your power and face your fears. Don’t let another year of letting your dreams live on the shelf. You can absolutely live the life you desire and deserve. It begins with facing your fears and not being controlled by any beliefs or stories that don’t align with the vision you have for your life.
I’d love to continue this conversation with you here. Simply leave me a comment or thought and I’ll be sure to respond. If you want to send a personal note, you can email me directly at Erica@momswithdreams.com.
