“Some people look forward to Friday. I look forward to every day because I’m doing what I love.” ~Jacqueline Miler

Jacqueline Miller is the mom of two sons, Founder of Jacqueline DuJour Enterprises, LLC, a two-time bestselling author, speaker, blogger, and a life coach.

When her children were younger Jacqueline admits that she believed that she couldn’t possibly pursue her dreams and be a great mom. After the sudden death of her husband in 2002, Jacqueline became “suddenly single” and so engrossed in being a single mother that she lost touch with herself.

In this episode Jacqueline shares her journey out of “the wilderness of her life” to MOGUL Mom, empowering women to pursue the life of their choosing.

Jacqueline’s Journey Back to Herself Began

Jacqueline became aware of her passion to work with moms during a conference she attended hosted by Lisa Nichols. It was during a conversation with Lisa that Jacqueline realized how passionate she was about helping moms not make the same mistakes that she’d made earlier in her life.

Jacqueline Cautions Moms to Take Care of their Health

Jacqueline recalled a time in her life when she neglected her health. She felt that she was too busy to care for herself, and later had some serious health scares. That was her wake-up call, but she doesn’t want other women to go through that. She encourages women, regardless of how busy they are with work and family, to make their health a top priority.

Jacqueline’s Biggest Regret

Her biggest regret was falling into the trap of believing that she couldn’t be a great mom and pursue her dreams. When Jacqueline’s boys left her home and she became an empty nester, she struggled with figuring out what was next for her. Now she coaches women and shows them how they can pursue their dreams while being attentive to the families. It’s totally doable!

Simple Steps to Help Moms Follow their Dreams

  1. Give yourself permission to pursue what you want
  2. Don’t allow mom guilt to creep in and make you doubt yourself.
  3. Seek out support and don’t try to do it alone
  4. Get your family involved in your dream so they can see what’s in it for them.
  5. Set attainable goals that get you closer to your dream.
  6. Connect with like-minded people who will encourage you and support your dream.

Jacqueline’s Projects

She will continue coaching moms and has plans to host book signings this year. Jacqueline is very excited about her 12-week program, My Journey Back to Me, which teaches women the exact steps that Jacqueline took in her life so she could live her dreams.

Nagina Abdullah is a weight-loss coach for busy women and the founder and CEO of Masalabody.com. Nagina has been featured on Fox News, Woman’s World and Mind Body Green for her fun and easy weight-loss method.

She lost 40 pounds in 9 months while caring for her two children and working 12-hour days in a demanding management consulting career. During her weight loss journey, Nagina was still able to enjoy her favorites - chocolate and ice cream.

In this episode, Nagina talks about her breaking point – when she was finally fed up with being overweight and having no energy – and how she discovered a new way of eating delicious food that allowed her to lose the weight and keep it off.

How Nagina Lost Weight by Eating Foods She Loves

As a busy mom and career woman, Nagina didn’t have loads of time to spend cooking healthy meals. She was able to leverage her time by preparing foods that she was already accustomed to eating by simply changing her seasonings. Before long Nagina had her secret recipes that all the moms in her neighborhood wanted.

How Nagina Channeled her Frustration into a Plan of Action

When Nagina reached her breaking point and decided that it was time to make changes, she figured out  how to frustration to create healthier eating habits. She researched and discovered that she could use most of the seasonings that she was already using and that they would support her weight loss efforts.

People often want to change, but they don’t know how. When you reach your breaking point, figure out how to pair your frustration with an action plan. Then follow through with your plan.

How to Stay Focused on Your Weight Loss Plan as a Busy Mom

Nagina encourages women to connect with people who are doing what they want to do. She joined Facebook groups and was inspired by the success of other members in her groups.

Success Tip #1: Make conscious decisions about who you surround yourself with, whether it’s in an online environment or in person.

Success Tip #2: Set short-term goals that you keep you moving forward toward your bigger goals.

Nagina’s Biggest Challenge in Pursuing Her Dreams

Her biggest challenge is staying focused on one thing at a time in her business.

She admits to being tempted to add new things (because there are so many new things to try in her industry), but she has found that being consistent and building on her existing coaching programs has added tremendous value to her brand.

As a result of her laser focus, Nagina has seen significant improvement in her coaching programs.

Nagina’s Advice on Discovering your Purpose

She encourages women to look within and figure out what skills they have that could be taught to others.

Be confident and know that there is something that you know that would be valuable for someone else to learn.

Nagina’s Recommended Books

Nagina offers a free Weight-Loss Recipes for Busy Women book that includes seven of her quick, delicious recipes. You can download your copy at http://masalabody.com.

Nagina also recommends The Big Leap, by Gay Hendricks. This book helped Nagina become aware of the limits that people place on their lives. She found it to be powerful for her personal life and for her business.

Nagina’s Projects

Nagin recently launched her 1-on-1, 10-week Weight-Loss Jumpstart program, where she provides coaching, accountability, and weekly menus/recipes for her clients.

Born and raised on government assistance, Kimra Luna was inspired to do more with her life once she became a wife and a mother. She wanted to help people on a large scale but wasn’t sure how and where to start.

After discovering how moms were blogging and building businesses online, Kimra knew that she could make a difference with her passion for teaching.

Kimra was committed to creating the life of her dreams. In May 2014 she launched her business kimraluna.com and made over $900,000 in sales during her first year.

In this episode, Kimra takes us on her journey from where she started to where she is now, and where she’s planning to go with her online empire.

Build Your Business from a Place of Service

Kimra built her brand and her business by making genuine connections on Facebook. While on welfare, she started a vegan support group for moms and spent a lot of time answering questions and helping her members. Making friends came easily for Kimra as she is naturally outgoing and loves to socialize.

She quickly became known as an expert in her group and in other FB groups because she spoke up and offered solutions. People trusted her and believed that she could help them because of the relationships she had already established.

For women who aren’t as outgoing, Kimra encourages them to be themselves. Know your strengths and become known for what you’re passionate about doing. If you’re great at teaching, then do that. Whatever you’re good at it, do it with passion.

You Have to Get in Front of People

Kimra talked about the importance of putting yourself out there. Get in front of people so they know how you can solve their problems. She cautions listeners about being a ‘hidden gem’ or the best kept secret. If you really want to help people, you have to get over your fear of being in front of them.

Overcoming Your Fears

Kimra shared insight on how to overcome your fear of speaking in front of people. Once you start putting yourself out there, sharing your knowledge and teaching, people will want more from you. The more you stay in action, doing the thing you fear the most, the easier it becomes and your fear gets smaller each time.

Kimra’s Thoughts on Being a Mom Who’s Following Her Dreams

When Kimra had her oldest son she only wanted to focus on being a mom. She believed that she was supposed to set her dreams aside. But it didn’t take long for Kimra to realize that it was possible for her to pursue her passion and dreams while taking care of her family. She had to get over her mom guilt and get clear on why she was pursuing her dreams.

The key to launching your dreams as a mom is to know what matters most. Once you know what that is, do more of it. For Kimra, owning a successful business allowed her to retire her husband and spend more time with her family. It’s important that her husband is in her sons’ lives and that he gets to spend quality time with them every day. She can afford a lifestyle that she never had because of her commitment to her goals. She’s living the life of her dreams that she created out of her desire to make a difference.
