Jamie’s love for reading started when she found the books, The Coldest Winter Ever, by Sister Souljah and Flyy Girl, by Omar Tyree. During our conversation, Jamie talks about:

  • Losing both of her parents at 11 years old
  • How she found the courage to share her truth

This episode was inspired by my recent trip to Atlanta to speak at the inaugural She Podcasts Live conference – an event created for female podcasters. I had an AMAZING time meeting new and old friends, learning from presenters, and being introduced to new products and services for podcasters. In this episode, I share some of the unexpected benefits of being a podcaster and how I discovered my personal power.

When I began my podcasting journey in 2015, I had no idea that it would help me face and overcome some of my biggest fears while helping me gain new skills and build confidence.

As you listen, I encourage you to find yourself in my story.

What projects are you currently working on that have allowed you to stretch, learn, and evolve?

What fears have you overcome?

What skills have you gained as a result of your work?

Life is all about learning and growing. If you’re not learning, you’re not growing. If you’re not growing, you’re not truly living – you’re simply existing.

I hope that you hear something that inspires you and reminds you of the possibilities that are within your reach every single day. You have more power than you may recognize. If your life isn’t going the way you want it to, use your power to change it. Life is too short to spend it sitting on the sidelines. It’s your time to shine!

Wishing you ALL my very best,

Erica

My mission on this podcast is to support moms and show them how to follow their dreams without feeling guilty. As summer was winding down, I kept hearing moms say the same thing – they were sad to see summer go and weren’t looking forward to the kids going back to school. Some moms were already feeling overwhelmed by the second day of school.

The school year is just beginning, so I created this special episode to help moms kick off the school year with less stress. In this episode, I share tips that have helped me manage my life and my kids’ lives during the busiest time of year – back to school.

This podcast is actually from a live broadcast that I did on Facebook and Instagram, so you’ll also hear me engaging with people who were watching me live.

Some of the takeaways that you’ll hear include:

  • Planning, preparing, and performing with flexibility
  • Checking in with yourself to see how YOU are feeling during this busy time
  • Making time for yourself
  • Being compassionate, patient, and kind to yourself
  • And more…

I hope you are inspired by this episode and hear something that you can apply in your life right now to help you stress less this school year.

If you’re struggling with the need to be a perfect mom, dealing with mom guilt, or you feel like you have no time to invest in yourself, I’d love to support you. Send me an email and let me know how I can help. My email address is: Erica@momswithdreams.com.

I’m super excited that we made it to this milestone episode! Here on the Moms with Dreams Show, we love to celebrate our success – both big and small - and reflect on lessons learned on our journey to our dreams.

I often tell women that they have to give birth to their dreams and nurture them just as they birth their children and nurture them to independence. In this episode, I compare the process of starting your dream business to birthing a baby. I walk you through the process of birthing your dream business from conception to delivery in these stages:

  • Conception of your dream – when you conjure up the idea or receive a vision
  • Gestational period - when you’re carrying your dream inside of you, putting in work but aren’t able to “see” your dream yet
  • Birth of your dream – when you give birth to your dream business, are nurturing it through actionable steps and are beginning to see results

Happy anniversary to the Moms with Dreams Show! I can’t believe it’s already been four years!

I feel like time has gone by so fast. So much has happened since I launched my show on May 18, 2015. When I made the decision to end my online radio show and start my podcast, I was clear on what I liked about podcasting – having flexibility to pre-record interviews, having my own platform to share my message, the freedom to call the shots and the ability to create a show that would live forever on Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Stitcher, and other cool places where people can find me around the globe.

What I didn’t know was how much time and energy I would have to invest to launch my show and keep it going. The first year was tough running my podcast as a one-woman show. I spent a lot of time learning how to edit in Audacity and trying to find my rhythm as an interviewer and discover my voice as a podcaster.

Looking back, I realize how much I’ve grown over these past four years. I’ve gained new skills. I’ve met amazing women from all over the world and have made lifelong friends because of my podcast. I’m grateful for every tough lesson as it’s shaped me into the woman I am today.

In this episode, I share ten valuable lessons that I’ve learned as a podcaster. I hope that you’ll find value in these lessons and apply what fits in your life.

I also had fun recapping twenty of my favorite episodes. Honestly, the list was going to be much longer, but I had to cut it off in the interest of time.

If you enjoyed this list, I’ll let you in on a little secret. I am working on a project that’s a spinoff of the MWD show. I’m excited to share it with you, but it’s still too early to spill the beans. I’ll share more with you very soon.

As you listen, I hope you hear something that resonates and inspires you. I’d love to hear what you’re thinking. Feel free to leave your thoughts and comments below the show notes at http://ericablocker.com/147. You can also email me at: Erica@momswithdreams.com.

Thank you for keeping me inspired and helping to make the Moms with Dreams Show a success. I wouldn’t be here without you, and I am so grateful for your love and support. Thank you for listening, for sharing and leaving me reviews. I appreciate you and am honored to be on this journey with you. I look forward to many more years of podcasting and growing with you.

All My Best,

Erica

I hope that you heard something today that helps you as you continue to build your dreams.

I had fun creating this episode! It’s unlike any other episode that I’ve ever done here on the podcast. It’s my first time ever being so candid and free without a specific topic or focus.

I guess you can say it’s my own version of a mini variety show. Episode 145 is a mix between free style, real talk, candid Q & A, and my thoughts.

You’ll hear me talk about:

  • my relationship with my podcast
  • why I’m a big fan of taking breaks and social media sabbaticals
  • the dilemma with my kids and their phone addiction
  • how I helped a co-worker overcome his social media addiction
  • how I manage to do all that I do as a single mom with a full-time career and more.

I hope you hear something that resonates and adds value to your life in some way. If you have a question that you’d like me to answer in a future episode like this, please let me know. You can either leave a comment at http://ericablocker.com/145 or email me directly at: Erica@momswithdreams.com. I can’t wait to hear from you.

Until next time, reclaim YOUR dream. Do what YOU love and make a difference.

Take care,

Erica

In this episode, you’ll meet Sophia Wise One, who is a teacher, healer, author, entrepreneur and speaker. She has also been called a modern-day medicine woman. Sophia is committed to making an optimal impact and she loves helping people get to know and love their authentic selves.

Sophia Wise One openly shares her spiritual journey including when she hit a major wall early in life as a young caretaker and how she dealt with being diagnosed with Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).

Sophia shares her philosophy about why support is necessary and what happens when you are unsupported emotionally and mentally.

She poses a powerful question that I invite you to answer for yourself. (You’ll have to listen to hear what she asks, but I promise you it’s deep and well worth your time.)

Then Sophia talks about how you begin to heal from pain, trauma, life’s disappointments, stress and emotional burdens.

Everything that Sophia talks about is deep yet simple for you to understand and apply in your life. If you’ve been struggling with listening to yourself, trusting what you hear and believing yourself, then you’ll get a lot from our conversation.
